Installation 101
Determine Whether your Bathtub is Compatible
The bathtub clamp for the Security Pole is compatible with standard Alcove bathtubs with flat sides and top. It is not compatible with curved tub walls. Tub walls must be between 3 and 7 inches wide and 13 to 21 inches tall.
This Security Pole is not intended for use on angled ceilings. Ceiling must be flat and measure 7 to 9 feet tall from the floor.

Position the Shower Curtain Rod around the Security Pole
The Security Pole may be incompatible or have limited compatibility with some fixed position curtain rods, due to interference. The Security Pole is compatible with all non-fixed curtain rods. It is recommended that non-fixed curtain rods be taken down prior to installation of the Security Pole and reinstalled, on the outside of the Security Pole.

Use Two Shower Curtains with the Bathtub Security Pole
To ensure the water is contained within the tub, there must be a curtain on either side of the Security Pole. We recommend using a split curtain, or two curtains (one to each side of the pole) as shown.
*Note: Both curved and straight curtain rods should be installed on the outside of the Security Pole, as shown.

Determining Where to Install the Bathtub Security Pole
The Bathtub Security Pole must be mounted where the tub is flat on both side and outside. The center of the clamp must be at least 12 inches from the wall to allow space for the curve grab bar.
An ideal configuration is to mount the Security Pole in the center next to the toilet (Figure A). If a toilet is not next to the bathtub, it is recommended to place the Security Pole near the front end of the bathtub to allow the user to use it while getting in/out of the tub (Figure B).
Is my bathtub compatible with the Bathtub Security Pole?
The clamp for the Security Pole is compatible with standard Alcove bathtubs with flat sides and top. It is not compatible with curved tub walls. Tub walls must be between 3-7 in. and 13-21 in. tall. Please measure your tub before purchasing.
How is a shower curtain installed around the Bathtub Security Pole?

No, the Security Pole will only work on flat ceilings of 7 to 9 feet high.
